Arthur Johnston is a paralegal in the Bankruptcy practice group of Best Best & Krieger LLP. He has more than 29 years of bankruptcy experience.

Arthur’s work as a paralegal includes assisting attorneys with the representation of Chapter 7 and 11 bankruptcy trustees and individual and corporate creditors and debtors in Chapter 7 and 11 cases. He assists attorneys in all procedural aspects of bankruptcy, including the preparation of bankruptcy petitions, schedules, budgets and Chapter 11 plans of reorganization. He oversees compliance with the United States Trustee’s Guidelines. Arthur is certified by the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of California for Case Management and Electronic Case Filing.

Arthur’s duties also include the drafting of various bankruptcy pleadings, including motions for compromise of controversy, sale of property, employment of professionals, applications for payment of professional fees and reimbursement of costs, and assisting with federal and state litigation matters. These tasks are carried out by preparation of summons and complaints, discovery matters, expert witness management and all aspects of trial preparation, such as trial exhibits, demonstrative exhibits, witness lists, subpoenas, notices to appear, jury instructions and voir dire, among other tools.

Arthur is a member of the Inland Empire Bankruptcy Forum and an associate member of the Riverside County Bar Association.
